its so shiddy when u have to convince yourself to do your hobbies. like, its fun, you like it, why cant you just do it. do it. do it. but what if…. mindless media consumption instead….

even when/if everyone gets vaccinated and we are able to reach heard immunity i am NEVER going to forget how selfish and ignorant and hateful some people were during the pandemic. i can’t look at some people or businesses the same way again and tbh i don’t want to. if your own feelings over the safety and health of others then i don’t want you anywhere near me idc if the pandemic is “over” which it’s not btw :)
Does anyone else have a particular date or event that ‘started’ the pandemic for them? Even though that event clearly happened after everything ‘started’?
My abusive roommates started threatening me with physical harm just days before the state wide lockdown. I freaked out that there was no low they weren’t willing to go after a year of psychological abuse and thousands of dollars in unpaid rent and food was stolen from me. I emergency moved out over the next three days with the help of my parents and friends to enter a lock down that still hasn’t truly ended for me nearly a year later.
My former roommates continued to threaten me over text messages and social media for a few months. I gradually blocked them on everything. But because they were still in the apartment i was legally required to pay for, i had to go back before the lease was up to clean up the mess they left and assess the damage they did to the apartment. That was the last time i was in the city i loved and had lived in for most of my 20’s. I dearly miss it :(
This is why puppets are the superior medium. You can’t do this with CGI characters.
Even though I *know* there are at least 3 puppeteers (ears, eyes, expression, neck/head) operating that little animatronic my brain is also going “Yay lookie he’s just so happy to hear the music and he squeaks and omg his little teef aghhhh I would die for this little dude”
This is masterful design, craft and technology all coming together and everyone involved seems to find so much happiness and joy it translates across the screen.
Grogu’s jamming out because several people are all seamlessly working a dozen controls as an amazingly professional team, like, Drift-fucking-compatible and we get to enjoy it.
Thanks, guys. I think it’s awesome that you keep him “alive” between takes and interact with everyone. I have no doubt that helps everyone better relate to the character and see him as more than just a puppet. You could be at crafty grabbing a coffee or a thousand other things, but you’re working his ears and brow and making him squee to the music and that’s beautiful.
